Towergate Professional Risks held 3 focus groups in April 2008
to help better understand their clients, with a view to doing more
to help clients run a safe and successful practice.
These focus groups are just the start of a series of similar
events to be held with clients throughout 2008. The first 3 groups
were focused on the counselling and psychotherapy sectors, which
Towergate has been involved in for over 15 years.
The topics discussed included, among
other things:
- How to set up on your own and find clients
- How to run a safe and secure practice
- How to build a network and manage your ongoing development
- Where to look for the information you need
- The risks facing counsellors and therapists
- Forthcoming regulation of the sector
All participants found the sessions really useful and later this
year, Towergate intends to share the findings of the focus groups
to help similar professionals run their practices more effectively,
especially those that are just starting out.
